Hi, I'm Nancy

I'm a medical student at UCSF in the class of 2027. I grew up in Palo Alto and studied math at Penn. I am interested in critical care medicine and leveraging quantitative techniques in translational research.

+ Research

I am currently on an NIH-funded research year studying precision medicine in critical care. My projects have focused on clinical biomarker validation, heterogeneity of treatment effect, and transcriptomic signatures of acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Before medical school, I studied preterm birth disparities through the lens of social and environmental epidemiology. I led projects on small area estimation of preterm birth in Philadelphia and the relationship between police violence and birth outcomes.

I have also worked on opioid prescribing disparities, pelvic floor interventions in urogynecology, and cardiac intervention reporting.

+ Hobbies

I volunteer at Maitri, a compassionate care facility for people living with HIV/AIDS. I also participate in the Firefly Project, a pen pal program with adult oncology patients.

In my free time, I enjoy practicing Spanish, playing volleyball, snowboarding, and most recently I've been training to touch the rim of a basketball hoop.
